I’ve been playing music since I received a guitar for Christmas in the mid-eighties, and have been a music teacher since the early 2000s. I play many instruments, including guitar, piano, synthesizer, bass and drums. I was a member of local bands the Haymakers and the Faceless Lazers as well as producing hip-hop beats for the Miami Boys. I’ve also released a number of albums of my own solo music.
Over the years, I’ve had the great joy to provide music lessons to a range of students—from children as young as 5 to adults as wise as 85. My teaching style has always been to adapt to the needs of the student—so we both enjoy our time together, and so the student gets the most they can from their music lesson.
I teach guitar lessons, piano lessons, music theory, recording technology and more. Students can take lessons in-person at my home studio in Orangeville, or online via Zoom or Skype.
When I’m not playing or teaching music, I’m likely reading, hiking, biking, skiing, or taking photographs. Or, lately, recording videos of myself playing guitar and piano pieces by Fernando Sor, JS Bach, and other composers, which I’ve begun sharing on my YouTube channel. I’ve also begun to create and share a number of pieces of free sheet music for guitar and piano as well as for students learning music theory and for those learning to read musical notation and TAB.
