I teach music lessons to students of all ages from my home studio in Orangeville, Ontario.
I teach guitar lessons, piano lessons and bass guitar lessons, as well as music theory and recording technology. I coach students for RCM Exam preparation; for piano and guitar, grade 1 – 6, and music theory grade 1 – 8.
I am versed in most popular styles of music, from baroque to classical, pop, rock and punk. I teach classical guitar, acoustic guitar and electric guitar technique, as well as electric bass guitar. I am familiar with most popular recording software, and can teach students to make high-quality recordings using their own equipment.
I make my own sheet music using notation software, and make custom sheet music for students for hard-to-find pieces. I tailor lessons to each individual student.
Music lessons are $25/half-hour lesson. There is a 10% discount for anyone who purchases 10 lessons at a time.

I teach guitar lessons, piano lessons and bass guitar lessons, as well as music theory and recording technology from my home studio on Third Street in Orangeville, Ontario. I also teach a number of students online through Skype and Zoom.
That depends on the student. For some students there can be benefits to taking music lessons online from their own home. Many piano students become accustomed to their own keyboard, and play more easily when able to use their own instrument for lessons. For students who live in rural areas, online lessons save tedious driving. For many students, online lessons are just as valuable as in-person, and much more convenient.
I do not charge for missed lessons, as long as reasonable efforts have been made to inform me of the cancellation beforehand. In most cases, a make-up lesson time will be offered.
I teach most popular musical styles, from classical music to pop and punk-rock. I always give students the opportunity to choose their direction of study. I encourage all students to learn the basics of reading notation and music theory. Some students want to follow a set curriculum, such as the RCM Celebration Series. Others want a unique program tailored to the student’s musical preferences and goals. I am happy to facilitate both learning styles.
I am happy to lend students a guitar to use in lesson, and piano students will use my upright piano for lessons, but you will require an instrument of your own for practice at home. I can help suggest where you might find an instrument that meets your needs as part of your first lesson.
It depends on the child. Some children can start lessons as young as five and make good progress. For children under seven, I suggest meeting before enrolling in lessons, and after a short assessment I can say with greater confidence if lessons will be effective.
Yes, I have a number of adult students. I believe that anyone can find joy in making music, at any age.
